"Creating Inspired, Empowered, Healthy and Relaxed Children."
Magic Yoga Mat Yoga 4 Kids helps children
- sleep better,
- improves their body awareness and their body image,
- builds co-ordination and confidence,
- improves their ability to manage stress and anxiety and
- develop focus and concentration to increase their ability to learn in the classroom.
Having fun is central to Childrens Yoga and children are encouraged not only to play, but to let their imaginations guide them. Yoga provides an alternative outlet for creativity and self expression which helps children manage stress, reduce anxiety and feel a greater sense of wellbeing and wholeness.
Kids Yoga at Home
We've just released a series of eBooks called Magic Yoga Mat Stories and they're filled to the brim with colorful illustrations, stories and things to do that will delight your children. Complete with a series of stories told from the perspective of four children, 15 poses for children, a relaxation and audio recordings Magic Yoga Mat Stories give you a variety of uplifting adventures to choose from. These stories enlighten young minds about the magic of yoga through storytelling... so that children "get the basics ... they get to learn yoga poses while reading and having fun. Once your children get to turn reading into play - they'l be begging for more! We created these stories to teach young kids the life skills they will need to be better mentally, physically and emotionally prepared in life.
Kids Yoga in the Studio
A typical Children's Yoga Class will comprise:
Please Note:
The length of each activity would depend solely on the mix of children
and their interest in the activity on the day so I have not included
any timing.
Warm Up:
Gains the children's interest, allows their minds to settle and warms their bodies.
Poses:
A series of ‘themed’ poses (ie the beach, the jungle, the zoo) are interwoven into a story that the children help create.
Games:
A game that focuses on co-ordination and/or concentration, often based
on poses they have previously learnt.
Relaxation:
Usually
a body awareness and visualisation style relaxation that allows the
child's min to settle after the poses and activities.
Breath Awareness:
An
exercise or practise to teach the children about their breathing
patterns, and how the breath is linked to different emotional states.
So that they begin to learn how they can help themselves to relax.
Children
are very quick to learn the poses and practises or yoga, so that they
can begin enjoying all the benefits they get in class at home - all
they need is a mat and their creativity!
The physical and mental benefits that a child gains from participating in Yoga classes is far beyond just improved flexibility and strength. Yoga is more than simply what we do on the mat, And we at Magic Yoga Mat are committed to creating inspired, empowered, healthy and relaxed children.
